One of the most popular little known sports in the USA, is bass fishing. Bass fishing is a great sport, which does not need the skill possessed by a pro. Although it is also the subject of the best and most sought after game fishing tournaments. Bass fishing has caught the fancy of Americans whether its going out during early morning feeding time or simply turning on the TV American have fell in love with the sport. Is it easy to fish for bass?

Or is it the notoriety of the fish that really makes it a challenge to catch. Bass as a fish, is quite aggressive and one which does not know when to quit. Therefore, when you catch one and it is struggling to get loose, you must work with it or it will keep struggling until it either breaks your equipment or gets free.

While bass fishing, you need to adopt a special way of moving your bait in the water to drag the bass out of its holes and cover. One way of doing this is to throw the bait as far as it goes and then retrieve it slowly with slow jerks imitating the movement of a bug across the water. No way can a bass resist the movement of a fly or a worm or any other bait moving slowly and invitingly across the water.

The best time to fish for bass is in the morning during the spring, although some people start fishing for it in the winter with good results. When fishing in clear waters, catching bass may be trickier then if you fish murky waters. When you do so, remember that it will produce better results if you shake your bait instead of dragging it along in the water. Night fishing is also a great time to fish for bass because bass can see extremely well in the dark and you will enjoy the cooler weather.

There is something just magic about a day spent fishing. This is a fantastic time for everyone. I love the sport of fishing more than anything else in my life, even my spouse; and to me, the most wonderful form of fishing is bass fishing.

How much fun is bass fishing; so exciting and yet so calming for your spirit. Keep your thinking caps on while bass fishing and also just hang loose while the fish size you up.

Many pros and cons exist when you are talking about bass fishing; there is no middle ground in liking or disliking it...some folks just love it from the very beginning and others abhor it. It's very simple; yes or no type of thing.

Having said all that, you may not understand right away if you are new to the sport, just how varied the sport of bass fishing can be. No way around it, there is nothing like the excitement of landing a largemouth on your line and fighting him for superiority.

Now we have come to a point where it would be a good idea to give some thinking toward which area of bass fishing holds the most interest for you; do you prefer largemouth fishing, smallmouth fishing, or striped bass fishing? Even if you make a choice now as to which type of fish you want to fish for, you needn't fish for that one type all the time, it's just that many anglers do have a preference.

After you learn the different species of bass that are out there to be fished for, then you find out just how many different ways there are to fish for the bass; like surf fishing, fly fishing, or fishing from a boat.

When you leave boat fishing for a moment, not one of the other kinds of bass fishing seem to be preferred. Serious bass fishermen want to fish from a boat, therefore that makes boat fishing the most desired mode of bass fishing, and if you want to give it a whirl and see if you can do it too, just join a bass fishing group and get your sea legs.

Lose your inhibitions about bass fishing when you are a newbie at it, but getting in with a bass fishing party crowd and let them teach you the ins and outs of the sport. Get rid of your fears that are holding you back when it comes to bass fishing from a boat, and get in with a party of bass fishermen who can show you and teach you all you need to know to get your feet wet.

Bass fishing is very popular at the lake, with its excellent habitat and special angling regulations. Lake Oroville is recognized as one of the best bass fisheries in the western United States, boasting some of the highest catch rates of quality fish in California. To be at the top of every pro bass fishing tournament you need to know more about bass than probably you know about your wife. If you are happy to be an amateur bass fisherman who occasionally catches a fish then continue doing what you are doing.

However, if you are anxious to become a better bass fisherman and to be a serious competitor in pro bass fishing tournaments (and have a huge trophy bass mounted on your wall) then you need these top pro bass fishing tips and techniques up your sleeve.

Different bass fishing locations will have different weather conditions. You need to use the best tools for the current weather conditions so that you can fish like a pro wherever you are, and in whatever weather conditions you are in.

BASS FISHING IN WARMER CONDITIONS

Bass notice when the days start getting longer. In warmer weather conditions they will be getting ready to hit warm shallow waters to feed.

The northwest position of a lake or in primary creek arms seem to hold the largest bass and are an ideal fishing hot spot.

Banks that have a lot of cover will also house some nice sized bass.

Once temperatures rise and hotter conditions prevail bass tend to migrate to river systems and murky lakes.

BASS FISHING IN COOLER CONDITIONS

When conditions are cooler most largemouth bass follow bait fish into impoundments or shallows. Try to match your lure to the type and size of bait fish that the bass are feeding on. Try casting right into the schools of bait fish.

In winter largemouth bass head for deeper water. There is definitely more of a challenge to catching bass in winter. They conserve their energy, having eaten aplenty in the warmer periods, and so bass activity will be significantly reduced.

However, cooler weather conditions mean you’ll have less competition and quite often this is when you’ll find your largest trophy bass.

The most popular bass bait for cooler conditions is soft baits, followed by hard baits.

In windy conditions pro bass anglers will go to fishing spots where they’ve found plankton hoping that largemouth bass will be feeding off smaller fish who are, in turn, feeding off plankton.

When light is low largemouth bass tend to feed more often. Moderate rain will often heavy feeding while heavier rainfall may make them retreat though it’s possible to find largemouth bass feeding wildly about 15 feet below surface.
